Christmas market 2016 in Meran

The city of Meran is the ideal holiday destination for those who want a stay full of nature, arts, culture and wellness. Borderland, Meran links different cultures and traditions as you can see from the numerous museums of the city (Castello Principesco, Tyrol Castle, Merano Arte, etc.) and from the architecture characterized by various styles.

Famous for its spa, it attracts those who want to relax, but is also interesting for those who want to discover the typical traditions, the old town and the special culture of the city thanks to the countless events organised above all over Christmas such as the Christmas markets.

Songs, music and Christmas shows liven up the streets of the city and follow the whole community in this time of the year. The bond with the tradition is clear also through the work of the artisans making wooden, stone and leather objects.

The local food and drink specialties offer utterly delightful smells and tastes that cheer the winter in the small town.

There is a great number of children activities such as the ice rink in Piazza Terme and the ‘Casetta di Goldy’ (Goldy’s little house) in Piazza della Rena, a entertainment place for children, but also pony rides or DIY workshops.

Sure, there are also adult activities, for instance you can join lantern lit evening tours through the city and enjoy Christmas concerts.
