Mondotreno reopening a chance to be child again
The reopening is going to take place on the 2nd of April 2017 and until the 6th of November 2017 Mondotreno is going to be open every day from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. excluding Saturday. Numerous groups and school parties can visit Mondotreno also at different times if they make a reservation, free admission for children under 3.
Mondotreno is in Rablà, near Parcines, and charms adults and kids; mums and dads with their children can become train drivers and control a model train through stunning landscapes.
The digital model railway is on three floors. In the 1,000m2 of exhibition area the visitor can admire a miniature landscape that is really impressive with 400 metres railway line, 40 moving trains, 400 vehicles and 7,000 figures. With its 20,000 elements that create a wonderful fantasy world Mondotreno is one of the biggest private collection in Europe.
Miniature South Tyrol is the biggest small-scale landscape in the world. The fantasy model Mezzamontagna takes the visitor through miniature landscapes and railways. The heart of the whole building is on the first floor where you can admire the region of South Tyrol on a 130m2 surface with a scale of 1:87, there is a great number of castles and fortresses, but also realistic details such as a car accident or the nostalgic little train of Ritten Railway. Moreover, also in Mondotreno the night falls, a lot of little lights going on and out at regular intervals and magical special effects create a really unique atmosphere.
Railway modelling is perfect way to promote the knowledge of railway line mobility and in alpine environment. The tracks of the moving trains go through narrow spaces and various ages of the history. In Mondotreno also adults become children again.
